About the IBDC
The Innu Business Development Centre (IBDC) was created by Innu Nation leaders during regional mining developments that took place in 2001.

The Innu Business Development Centre was created as a single entry window for Innu entrepreneurs looking to bid on contracts, business entities wanting to partner with Innu companies, and companies issuing procurement contracts.

The Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) with VBNC (Vale) and Nalcor have already resulted in more than $600 million dollars worth of contracts going to Innu businesses.

Since 2002 the Innu Nation has entered into five more Impact Benefit Agreements and four additional Memorandums of Understanding that are either in place or being negotiated. Each of these IBAs and MOUs has clauses in them that give preferential treatment to Innu businesses.

These agreements establish a committee to review and monitor the business development and employment aspects of the IBA contracts. The IBDC participates on these committees to insure that Innu businesses are maximizing the benefits from these agreements.

The IBDC continues to be the single entry window for Innu entrepreneurs and companies doing business with the Innu.
